Looks like a great list! One thing that's been useful with ipods/iphones was an external battery pack. I can't remember exactly what its called but it charges the ipods and gives them a few extra hours of battery. Very useful on a long bus or plane trip!

Make sure you get your phones unlocked before leaving the country so you can use local sim cards. We forgot to do that and our Australian carrier can not do it from overseas. They say there's just no way... after two hours of sitting on hold!

karina and steve,

it was good to catch up with you karina (and the boys) the other day. steve i hope work was ok for you.

you technology packing list looks good. my brother recently travelled the world including remote parts of south america. he travelled with an i-phone which enabled wireless access to the web. this was powerful - any maccas became a web hotspot. he even got some free access in the jungle off a generator powering a wireless hub somewhere in the amazon!

this would also replace the i-pod.
just a suggestion.
