One thing that's been useful with ipods/iphones was an external battery pack. I can't remember exactly what its called but it charges the ipods and gives them a few extra hours of battery. Very useful on a long bus or plane trip! Make sure you get your phones unlocked before leaving the country so you can use local sim cards. We forgot to do that and our Australian carrier can not do it from overseas. They say there's just no way... after two hours of sitting on hold! Looks like a great list!
